Pharmacists send Calif. government flowers in protest of Medi-Cal cuts

8/11/2008

WASHINGTON Early last month, California instituted a 10 percent cut to providers of Medi-Cal patients. The cuts have been considered to be devastating to pharmacies and doctors in the state, as they would be losing money on business to keep up with the new law.

In order to help turn back a this rate cut, pharmacists in the state held a “flower power” demonstration and press conference on the steps of the Capitol earlier this week, according to reports.

More than 600 bouquets were sent to the site, urging the Governor and legislators to rescind the cuts.
