Pharmacy Quality Alliance announces series of promotions

SPRINGFIELD, Va. — The Pharmacy Quality Alliance on Tuesday announced that Julie Kuhle is being promoted to VP measure operations, where she will lead PQA’s strategic initiatives related to development, testing, maintenance and utilization of PQA performance measures and quality improvement indicators across the healthcare marketplace.


 


Kuhle will continue to lead the quality metrics expert panel and provide oversight of the process to approve new measures. Prior to her promotion, Kuhle served as PQA’s senior director of performance measurement where she was responsible for measure development and maintenance as well as providing staff support to all workgroups to ensure that progress is made toward objectives and members are engaged in the measure development process.


 


In addition, Lynn Pezzullo is being promoted to senior director, Performance Measurement. In this role she will ensure the successful development, testing and maintenance of PQA measures and quality improvement indicators. Pezzullo will continue to lead the Measure Update Panel, to ensure that PQA-endorsed measures are aligned with current clinical evidence and/or guidelines. Pezzullo’s responsibilities also include engaging and leading PQA membership in the measure development process and providing technical assistance to those using PQA measures. Pezzullo also leads PQA’s efforts to develop specialty pharmacy measure.


 


And Samuel Stolpe is being promoted to senior director, quality strategies and business development. In his new role, Stolpe will expand initiatives and partnerships that advance the mission of PQA. Prior to his promotion, Stolpe served as director, quality strategies. Stolpe will continue to lead PQA's efforts in capturing the voice of the patient in PQA's measure development process through the PQA Patient Advisory Panel and coordinate PQA’s Adult Immunization Task Force. Stolpe’s work on PQA educational initiatives includes oversight of the Academic Affairs Committee, the PQA Ambassador Program and the newly-revised educating pharmacists in quality (EPIQ) CE training program designed for front-line pharmacists, managed care executives, and future leaders within medication use quality.
