PharmTech Certification Board offers APhA-endorsed exam
WASHINGTON An organization that certifies pharmacy technicians announced Monday that it will begin offering examinations starting in April.
The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board will offer the exam at Pearson Professional Centers around the country, including in Guam and Puerto Rico, April 1. Candidates will receive results immediately after finishing the exam.
The board said its exam is the only one to receive endorsement from the American Pharmacists Association, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
"As industry demand continues to grow. and more states like Texas require pharmacy technicians to be PTCB certified as part of the registration process, we recognize the need to evolve our program," PTCB executive director and CEO Melissa Corrigan said in a statement.
