WASHINGTON — The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America this week announced two new additions to its ranks. The company has added Mike Hotra as VP of its public affairs team, and Ken McKay as VP state government affairs.
Hotra joins PhRMA from APCO Worldwide, where he served as executive director and deputy managing director at its Washington office. He has previously worked as director of legislation and communication for the American Tort Reform Association. In his new role, he’ll oversee the strategy and day-to-day activities of PhRMA’s federal advocacy communications.
McKay was most recently campaign manager for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s presidential bid and then was political director of Rebuilding America Now. Before that, he was political director for the Republican Governor’s Association and was a senior advisor to U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis. In his role at PhRMA, McKay will work to enhance the execution of the organization’s state advocacy strategy on key issues.
