Ranbaxy, Orchid create development/marketing partnership
MUMBAI, India Ranbaxy Laboratories and Orchid Chemicals have entered into a business alliance agreement involving multiple geographies and therapies for both finished dosage formulations and active pharmaceutical ingredients, according to published reports.
According to Orchid’s managing director Raghavendra Rao, the deal lets Ranbaxy handle marketing while Orchid will deal with manufacturing. “It is a product development, manufacturing and marketing kind of an alliance,” said Rao.
Speaking on the development, Malvinder Mohan Singh, chief executive officer Ranbaxy, said, “Orchid is a niche player in the global pharmaceutical industry with an impressive track record, particularly in sterile products.
