RediClinic selects Athenahealth for EMR and practice management services

HOUSTON and WATERTOWN, Mass. Athenahealth, a provider of Web-based business services to physician practices, announced that it has been selected by clinic operator RediClinic for its electronic medical record and practice management services.

RediClinic, which operates 35 retail-based clinics, will use AthenaCollector at each of its locations for revenue cycle management. A select number of the clinics will also use Athenahealth’s EMR service, dubbed AthenaClinicals.

“We feel Athenahealth’s technology solutions are uniquely positioned to help us deliver the best patient experience possible,” stated Web Golinkin, chief executive officer of RediClinic. “Athenahealth’s on-demand business services will allow RediClinic to optimize clinical and operational workflows across clinic locations, resulting in improved processing of patients in the clinic and a better connection with our managed care partners.”

The clinic operator currently has 20 locations in HEB stores in Houston and Austin, Texas; 15 locations in Wal-Mart stores in Tulsa, Okla., Fayetteville and Rogers, Ark., Atlanta and Richmond, Va. Additional clinics are expected to open in 2008 and 2009.
