Research company predicts self-service kiosk business to reach $1.7 trillion by 2012
FRANKLIN, Tenn. Self-service kiosks at retail outlets will get $1.7 trillion worth of business by 2012, according to research by IHL Group released Wednesday.
This year alone, transactions at such kiosks will be more than $607 billion.
The research examined the use of self-service kiosks for ticketing, food ordering, postal service and others in the United States and Canada.
Based in Franklin, Tenn., IHL Group provides market analysis and business consulting services for retailers and information technology companies that specialize in the retail industry.
