Rite Aid to offer one-day flu clinic in 1,700 locations

CAMP HILL, Pa. Rite Aid pharmacies will offer a one-day flu clinic on Oct. 16, 17, or 18 in almost 1,700 of its stores.

In an average year 5 to 20 percent of the US population gets the flu and, the virus causes 36,000 deaths, (mostly among those aged 65 years or older) and 200,000 hospitalizations, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The shots will be given from 2-6 p.m. with no appointment necessary.  The shots will be given on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.  The shots are given free of charge to patients with Medicare Part B and $30 for all other patients.
