Rite Aid to open two Saint Alphonsus Express Care clinics in Boise
CAMP HILL, Pa. Rite Aid on Monday morning announced the opening of two Saint Alphonsus Express Care medical clinics in Boise, Idaho. The clinics, staffed by certified nurse practitioners and physicians assistants, are two of three that will open inside Rite Aid stores in the greater Boise area this year, the company stated.
“The opening of these Express Care clinics allow us to provide convenient, high-quality, affordable health care services to patients, who now won’t have to wait for an appointment to receive treatment for minor illnesses and get basic medical tests,” stated Mark de Bruin, Rite Aid executive vice president of pharmacy. “They are a great addition to the care already provided by our pharmacists and continue Rite Aid’s commitment to the health and wellness of our patients.”
The Saint Alphonsus Express Care clinics are the first retail-based health care clinics to open in Idaho, where patients can receive prompt, affordable, quality care for common illness such as strep throat, earaches and the flu.
Clinics are now open in the Rite Aid store at 660 East Boise Avenue and in the Rite Aid store at 1515 West State Street.
The Express Care clinics will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The clinics will offer a variety of specific health care services that typically can be delivered in 15 minutes at an average cost of $45 per visit. These include diagnosis and treatment for many common illnesses such as bronchitis, sinus infections and allergies, as well as a number of health and wellness screenings and vaccines. Nurse practitioners and physicians assistants will also write commonly-used prescriptions to treat illnesses.
A third Saint Alphonsus Express Care clinic is expected to open later this year at the Rite Aid store on East Cleveland Boulevard in Caldwell, Idaho.
