Rite Aid reports decline in monthly sales

CAMP HILL, Pa. For the four weeks ended Dec. 26, Rite Aid on Monday reported a same-store sales decrease of 1.8% over the prior-year period. Front-end same-store sales decreased 2.3%, and pharmacy same-store sales were down 1.5%.

Prescriptions filled at comparable stores decreased 0.2% over the prior-year period.

Total drug store sales for the four-week period decreased 3% to $2.1 billion. Prescription revenue accounted for 62.7% of drug store sales, and third party prescription revenue represented 96.2% of pharmacy sales.
