Sandoz launches generic Penlac

PRINCETON, N.J. Sandoz today launched ciclopirox, a generic version of Dermik Laboratories’ nail lacquer Penlac, which is used to treat fungal infections of the fingernails and toenails.

The patent for the brand expired today. According to IMS sales data, Penlac had sales of $86 million last year.
