SmartCare Family Centers closes all Colorado Wal-Mart clinics

DALLAS SmartCare Family Centers has confirmed that all 15 retail clinics within Wal-Mart Supercenters in Colorado have closed.

“All SmartCare employees have been notified. There are no further details at this time,” the company said in a statement sent to Drug Store News.

Staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants, SmartCare treated acute ailments such as ear infections, seasonal allergies, sore throats, sinus infections, pink eye and urinary tract infections.

The Texas-based company was formed in 2004 by a group of medical and business professionals.
