Southeastern Grocers has unveiled its specialty pharmacy offering, Pathstone Health Services. The Jacksonville, Fla.-based owner of the Bi-Lo, Fresco y Más, Harveys and Winn-Dixie banners said the specialty pharmacy launch was designed to offer customized, convenient care for patients with such conditions as cancer, hepatitis, multiple sclerosis and Crohn’s disease.
Pathstone’s services include free delivery either to a patient’s home or their preferred Southeastern Grocers pharmacy, as well as refill services. It also will provide financial assistance to reduce patients’ out-of-pocket costs, the company said. Specialty pharmacists will offer personalized check-ins, reminders and expert advice about potential side effects and conflicting medication.
“Our customers’ health and well-being always come first. We are excited to introduce Pathstone Health Services’ new range of specialty pharmacy services to our customers throughout the Southeast including our in-store pharmacies,” said Gayle Shields, vice president of pharmacy and operations at Southeastern Grocers. “We have listened to our customers and know there are medical conditions that require a specialty pharmacy in the communities that we serve. We want our customers to know they can count on us to deliver customized specialty pharmacy care including medications, clinical programs, financial assistance and adherence monitoring all with convenient delivery options. It’s all about putting people first.”
The company said that in addition to its new specialty offering, its standard pharmacy services include free health screenings and consultations, year-round immunizations, and certain free antibiotics, diabetes and high blood pressure medication. The company also highlighted its Everyday Low Price Generic program, which offers $4 and $40 generics for a 30- or 90-day supply.
