SPCB announces first wave of certified specialty pharmacists
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board has certified nearly 50 pharmacists following the first round of exams, the group said Monday.
The SPCB announced that 49 pharmacists had earned the Certified Specialty Pharmacist accreditation after taking the exams, which were administered in October, covering intake, fulfillment, clinical management and outcomes.
"We congratulate the first wave of Certified Specialty Pharmacists as they embark on a new chapter in their careers through demonstrating their commitment and elevated skill set to employers and the greater industry by earning their certification," SPCB executive director Gary Cohen said. "Earning the CSP lets employers, patients, colleagues and other important stakeholders to the specialty pharmacy industry know that they are experts in handling specialty pharmaceuticals and have achieved a nationally recognized level of knowledge and proficiency."
