Teva gets FDA OK for Tribenzor generic, launches generic Azor

SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved Teva’s generic of Tribenzor (olmesartan medoxomil, amlodipine and hydrochlorothiazide) tablets, the company announced Monday. 


 


The drug is indicated to treat hypertension to lower blood pressure, and had approximately $240 million in U.S. sales for the 12 months ended August 2016, according to QuintilesIMS data. 


 


Teva said it also recently received approval for and launched its generic of Azor (amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil) , another hypertension drug for lowering blood pressure. That drug had U.S. sales of about $354.1 million for the 12 months ended August 2016, according to QuintilesIMS data.
