Tim Russert to speak at NACDS Foundation dinner

ALEXANDRIA, Va. The National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation announced Thursday that journalist Tim Russert will speak at the 9th Annual NACDS Foundation Dinner.

Russert currently works as managing editor and moderator of “Meet the Press,” as well as being a political analyst for “NBC Nightly News” and the “Today Program,” He is also a contributing anchor for MSNBC. His professionalism has earned him the role of host to his own show, “The Tim Russert Show,” a weekly interview program on MSNBC. Russert also serves as senior vice president and Washington bureau chief of NBC News.

NACDS Foundation president Phil Schneider said Russert was the perfect person to be the foundation’s guest speaker because of his ability to give back to the community, particularly through volunteer leadership positions with the Greater Washington Boys and Girls Clubs and the America’s Promise programs.

“Tim Russert is a man who exemplifies commitment. He demonstrates commitment to his industry, his family and his community,” Schneider said.

The NACDS Foundation’s mission is to enhance support of pharmacy education, student scholarships, research and training that advance community pharmacy’s public service and charitable organizations. In the past, the annual dinner attendees have graciously generated significant financial support for quality programs and research to further advance community pharmacy.
