US Bioservices, an independent specialty pharmacy and part of AmerisourceBergen, on Thursday announced that it had earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Home Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards.
The Gold Seal of Approval is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective care, the company said, noting that all of US Bioservices’ dispensing locations had received this accreditation.
“Back in 1994, we began as a regional pharmacy that focused on in-home infusion therapies, and home care remains an essential part of our clinical programs,” US Bioservices director of accreditation, regulatory affairs and quality DeAndra Jones said in a statement. “This accreditation illustrates our continued commitment to the level of care we provide in the home, and we greatly value The Joint Commission’s acknowledgement of our program.”
US Bioservices dispenses oral, injectable and infused specialty medications to patients in all 50 states and U.S. territories. As a nationwide provider of home infusion services, US Bioservices’ team of registered nurses deliver patient clinical training and infusions in the convenience of patients’ homes.
US Bioservices underwent a rigorous on-site survey during which compliance with home care standards was evaluated. This evaluation included a review of provision of care, treatment and services, emergency management, human resources, individual rights and responsibilities, and leadership. The accreditation process also provided US Bioservices with education and guidance to help staff continue to improve its home care program’s performance.
