Virginia pharmacist Heather Greene receives C.A.R.E. Pharmacy Award

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. Virginia pharmacist Heather Greene has won the C.A.R.E. Pharmacy Award from Eisai Corp. and the Alzheimer’s Association, Eisai and the association announced Thursday.

Greene, a geriatric consultant with the Riverside Health System at the Richmond Program for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly facility, received the award in recognition of her work with patients with Alzheimer’s disease. The award will include a $1,500 donation to the Greater Richmond Alzheimer’s Association Chapter, as well as the Massachusetts/New Hampshire and Illinois chapters because of the large number of nominations submitted from them.

“Alzheimer’s is a devastating disease for individuals as well as for their caregivers and family members,” Eisai president U.S. pharmaceuticals Cynthia Schwalm said in a statement. “Eisai recognizes the integral role pharmacists play in each patient’s treatment and care, through ongoing monitoring, counseling and support. We are proud to honor this year’s C.A.R.E. award recipient for her invaluable contributions to enhance the quality of care for people affected by Alzheimer’s disease.”
