Walgreens, AllianceRx Walgreens Prime collaborate with GHLF
Walgreens and AllianceRx Walgreens Prime will be kicking off a collaboration this week with the Global Healthy Living Foundation. Focused on helping patients with such inflammatory conditions as Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, manage their conditions, the collaboration will be unveiled at the American College of Rheumatology Conference, which is held Oct. 19 to 20 in Chicago.
At the outset, Walgreens and AllianceRx Walgreens Prime will work with GHLF’s patient community and advocacy group CreakyJoints.org on education initiatives that will highlight how patients can benefit from working with their pharmacists. The organizations also are partnering to provide enhanced training for pharmacists staffing 31 of Walgreens community-based specialty pharmacies, as well as AllianceRx Walgreens Prime central specialty locations. The training will focus on helping patients manage their conditions.
In the future, the companies said they would continue to develop new efforts that will work to improve adherence, reduce side effects and drug interactions and offer relief of patients’ symptoms.
