Walgreens to offer flu shots on Oct. 1

9/20/2007

DEERFIELD, Ill. Walgreens will start its 14th year of in-store flu shot programs on Oct. 1. They will be offered in all 48 states where Walgreens has stores and in a lot of those stores, pharmacists will administer the shots.

The cost of the shots range from $24.99 to $30, but patients should check with their insurance carrier first to see if they are covered for flu shots. Medicare Part B patients, who are not members of an HMO, can get a shot for free if they present their card.

For details on when a flu shot clinic will be offered at a specific store, consumers can call 1-800-FLU-9950.
