Wellbutrin generic receives FDA approval

CORONA, Calif. The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic version of GlaxoSmithKline's antidepressant Wellbutrin, the generic drug's manufacturer announced Wednesday.

Watson Pharmaceuticals said Wednesday that its subsidiary, Watson Laboratories, had received FDA approval for bupropion hydrochloride extended-release tablets in the 150 mg strength. The company will begin selling the tablets immediately, it said.
