Zix Corp. seeks 'strategic alternatives' for its e-prescribing business

DALLAS An e-mail encryption and e-prescribing company may sell off its e-prescribing business.

Zix Corp. announced that it had retained Allen & Co. to help its board of directors investigate “strategic alternatives” for its e-prescribing business. It said the review may result in a partnership, joint venture or the sale of some or all of its e-prescribing assets.

Still, the company said no decision had been made and there could be no assurance that it would enter such a transaction in the future.
