Zydus Cadila receives FDA nod for generic Latuda
Zydus Cadila has received the Food and Drug Administration’s blessing for its generic Latuda (lurasidone hydrochloride tablets). The generic will be available dosage strengths of 20 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg, 80 mg and 120 mg.
The product is the generic of Sunovion’s Latuda tablets.
The medication is used to treat certain mental/mood disorders, including schizophrenia and depression associated with bipolar disorder. It may also help to decrease hallucinations.
It will be manufactured at the group’s manufacturing facility at SEZ, Ahmedabad, the company said.
