Publix to administer COVID-19 vaccines at 55 South Carolina pharmacies
Publix announced that its online reservation system will activate on March 16 so eligible parties can register for the COVID-19 vaccine at 55 of its South Carolina pharmacies.
Appointments to receive second doses of the vaccine will not be impacted by any changes at participating locations, the Lakeland, Fla.-based retailer said.
In order to adhere to state and federal requirements, those eligible for the vaccine include all K-12 and child care teachers and personnel, front line workers with increased occupational risk, health care and community health care workers, caregivers for children with increased medical risk, individuals age 55 years old and older, those in risk settings where people are living and working in close contact, residents and staff of long-term care facilities and both state and local government employees.
Dates for the appointments range from March 18 to 24. Saturdays and Sundays are currently excluded, the company said.
Vaccines will be administered in several counties, while supplies last, including Aiken, Anderson, Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, Georgetown, Greenville, Greenwood, Horry, Lancaster, Lexington, Pickens, Richland, Spartanburg and York.
