Publix expands COVID-19 vaccination distribution to South Carolina

1/19/2021

Publix is working with the state of South Carolina to bring the COVID-19 vaccine to 42 of its pharmacies.

Following state guidelines, the vaccine will be distributed to healthcare workers, those over the age of 70 years old and older, residents and staff of long-term care facilities, and both state and local government employees and contractors.

“At Publix, the health and safety of our communities is a top priority,” said Publix CEO Todd Jones. “We are grateful for this opportunity to step up and provide this important service during this critical time.”

Vaccines will be provided by appointment only via the online reservation system on Publix’s website and will be of no cost to the individual, the company said.

Appointments are available for request beginning Jan. 19, but vaccinations will begin Jan. 20.
