Publix expands COVID-19 vaccinations to 3 states

4/12/2021

Residents in Alabama, North Carolina and Tennessee can now head to their nearest Publix Pharmacy to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

The Lakeland, Fla.-based retailer announced that it has opened appointment reservations for residents of those three states.

This marks the first time the company will be offering appointments for the vaccine in North Carolina, as well as the first time the Moderna COVID-19 immunizations will be offered in the three states, the retailer said.

Although individuals age 16 years old and older are eligible for the vaccine, the Moderna vaccine will only be given to those who are age 18 years old and older.

In Alabama, the vaccine will be offered at select locations in Madison county.

In North Carolina, residents of the Buncombe, Cabarrus, Catawba, Forsyth, Gaston, Guilford, Haywood, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Wake and Watauga counties are eligible for the vaccine.

Lastly, those in Tennessee’s Bradley, Davidson, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery and Williamson counties can head to their nearest Publix for an appointment.

Vaccines will only be administered while supplies last, and appointments must be made using Publix’s online reservation system.
