Publix opens South Carolina GreenWise Market

Publix is continuing to expand its GreenWise Market concept with a brand new store opening.

The Lakeland, Fla.-based retailer opened a new market in Lexington, S.C., located at 5336 Sunset Blvd., in the Lexington Marketplace shopping center.

“Our GreenWise Market team is very excited to bring this new shopping experience to Lexington and the greater Columbia community,” Publix president Kevin Murphy said. “Our customers can expect to find unique and local products, as well as a gathering place for small meetings.”

Home to a curated selection of specialty, natural and organic products, as well as a variety of prepared foods, GreenWise Market shoppers can also find in-house smoked meats, in-house made sausages, organic produce, gourmet meat and cheeses, and body care products.

Stores are split into such experience zones as Care, Eats and Finds. Those who visit the Pours zone can purchase a glass of wine, locally brewed beer, roasted coffee or any other available beverages, the company said.

In addition, the location also features a multi-panel mural by local artist and architect Wayne Rogers that serves as both an abstract lake scene and metaphor for what ties the town together.
