Publix Pharmacy begins filling pet prescriptions
Pet owners in Florida can now head to their nearest Publix Pharmacy to fill their furry family member’s prescriptions.
Yes, that is correct. The Lakeland, Fla.-based retailer has begun filling prescriptions for pet medications in the Sunshine State.
Available medication categories for pets include allergies, antibiotics, arthritis and anti-inflammatory, bronchitis, ear, endocrine, heart failure, heartworms, flea and tick, motion sickness, dry eye, and seizures.
Pet medications, not covered by insurance, and ordered from Sunday to Friday will be available for next day pickup, the company said.
In addition, prescriptions — except those requiring refrigeration — will be available for home delivery within a 5-mile radius of each in-store Florida Publix Pharmacy for a $5 fee.
Those interested in transferring their pet medications should call their nearest Publix Pharmacy or visit publix.com/petmeds.
