Each award is presented to one winner and one finalist in four categories — pharmacy benefit managers and payer specialty pharmacy, hospital and health system specialty pharmacy, independent specialty pharmacy, and retail specialty pharmacy.

Winners and finalists are selected based on scores achieved during quarterly surveys that total more than 10,000 specialty pharmacy patients.
