Albertsons is looking to give consumers the upper hand when it comes to knowing the status of their upcoming order.
The company announced that it would be partnering with Glympse, a company that houses location sharing technology, which will give shoppers real-time status of their grocery delivery or Drive Up & Go order.
“We want to make our e-commerce experience as simple and transparent as possible,” said Narayan Iyengar, SVP digital and e-commerce at Albertsons. “Our partnership with Glympse makes it even easier for customers to get their groceries however and whenever they want.”
Shoppers can currently find the service available on delivery orders at Albertsons, Safeway, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Randalls, Tom Thumb and Pavilion locations.
Glympse will not be available on orders that are fulfilled by Instacart, the company added. Beginning in the spring, Albertsons will pilot Glympse technology in select Drive Up & Go markets as well.
“Albertsons Cos. understands that convenience is a requirement for providing the highest level of customer service for their delivery and Drive Up & Go programs,” said Chris Ruff, CEO, and president of Glympse. “We are excited to be working with Albertsons Cos. to help them expand their leadership in food and drug retail through our real-time location and customer engagement platform.”
