CVS Health, Walgreens, others named best places to work for disability inclusion

7/9/2018
CVS Health, Walgreens, Meijer and Walmart have each been named a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” on the annual Disability Equality Index.

The DEI is a joint initiative between the American Association of People with Disabilities and the US Business Leadership Network, jointly designed by disability advocates and business leaders as the nation's most trusted comprehensive benchmarking tool for disability inclusion.

The Index measures key performance indicators across organizational culture, leadership, accessibility, employment, community engagement, support services and supplier diversity.

"At CVS Health, we are focused on breaking down the employment barriers that individuals with disabilities face. We believe our colleagues and customers, of all abilities, are what help our company and the communities we serve grow and thrive," said CVS Health executive vice president and chief human resources officer Lisa Bisaccia.

“Walgreens is proud to foster a disability inclusive culture through two programs to train and hire people with disabilities in our stores and distribution centers, where our team members work side-by-side to perform the same jobs for the same pay,” said Walgreens Boots Alliance vice president and global chief diversity officer Carlos Cubia. “It’s an honor to be acknowledged by the Disability Equality Index for our commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce that aligns with our purpose to champion the health and well-being of every community in America.”
