Giant Food pharmacies now have the flu shot in stock
Flu shots are now available at Giant Food’s in-store pharmacies.
The Landover, Md.-based company announced that both adults and children can now receive the vaccination from its certified pharmacists.
"Giant welcomes everyone to come speak to one of our pharmacists about flu shots and how to stay healthy this winter," said Paul Zvaleny, Giant Food director of pharmacy operations. "The flu season is quickly approaching, and it's important to begin thinking about vaccinations as early as possible as a preventative measure."
Consumers do not need to make an appointment to receive a vaccination, and Giant Food is working to bill such insurance companies as Medicare directly, and aiming to provide $0 copays.
Standard flu vaccinations are available, as are the quad and high-dose vaccines, the companies said.
The retailer also will give those who get vaccinated against the flu a free coupon book with more than $28 in savings for items and services at its locations.
