Giant Food Stores wants to make managing prescriptions easier for its shoppers.
That is why the Carlisle, Pa.-based retailer has launched the Giant Pharmacy app, which allows customers to request refills, transfer prescriptions and view their prescription history.
In addition, a Martin’s Pharmacy app is available for those who shop Martin’s Food Markets.
“We understand the changing needs of our customers to shop for their groceries whenever and however they want; it’s the same when it comes to managing their prescriptions,” Leigh Shirley, the director of pharmacy operations at Giant Food Stores, said. “Our new pharmacy app builds on our digital offerings and is a natural extension to help our busy customers request refills, transfer prescriptions and more with just a few simple clicks.”
Both iterations of the app can be downloaded for free via the Google Play Store or Apple App store.
To use the app, customers’ needs to create unique user ID and password, as well as provide a recent prescription number and the Giant or Martin’s location where it was filled.
In order to ensure security, customers will be contacted upon completion of their registration at the phone number in their pharmacy profile to authenticate accounts.
“As partners in good health, our pharmacists are a trusted health and wellness resource for our customers, from helping to manage prescriptions to assisting with the right over-the-counter medications to conducting free screenings,” Shirley said.
