Meijer brings Shop & Scan to all Ohio locations
Meijer is looking to make shopping easier for those in Ohio.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer announced that its Shop & Scan mobile shopping app is available as a new checkout option in all its Ohio locations.
Allowing customers to shop and bag as they go, the app also allows for the avoidance of long lines and a more personalized shopping visit, the company said.
"We're all challenged by time and busy schedules, so Shop & Scan allows customers the opportunity to truly be in control of their shopping trip, from the moment they walk in our stores to the minute they walk out," Tom Wilson, Meijer regional vice president said. "Customers are appreciative of the simplicity of scanning and bagging as they go because they can save time and avoid lines, speeding up their checkout experience."
Meijer’s free mobile app is used by having the bar codes on products scanned while also keeping a running total of items purchased that’s viewable throughout the shopping trip. Once a customer is ready to checkout, all they need to do is scan their phone at the self-checkout lane and pay.
The retailer’s Shop & Scan service is now available at 179 of its locations and will continue rolling out to others throughout the year.
