Publix announced that it has acquired a lease from Winn-Dixie for the Paradise Isle Shopping Center, which is located on the Gulf Shores Parkway in Gulf Shores, Al.
“We’re excited about the growth opportunities within our operating area, and adding a second location in Gulf Shores will help us better serve this community,” said Publix CEO & President Todd Jones.
The Lakeland, Fla.-based company has not yet announced or confirmed an opening date for its newest location.
This news comes on the heels of Winn-Dixie’s parent company, Southeastern Grocers filed for chapter 11 in March 2018 and announced the c
losure of 94 stores. Previously the
Piggy Wiggly chain announced it would be acquiring three Bi-Lo locations in South Carolina and Georgia.
