On the heels of the new year, Publix announced several officer promotions, which will take into effect in 2019.
Kevin Murphy, who is currently the retailer’s senior vice president of retail operations, will be promoted to the role of president. He previously served as the company’s Jacksonville division district manager, Atlanta division regional director and Miami division vice president.
Laurie Douglas, the senior vice president and chief information officer, will assume additional responsibilities as the chief digital officer. Douglas joined Publix in 2006 and was previously the senior vice president/chief information officer of FedEx Kinko’s office and print center.
Dale Myers, the vice president of retail business development, announced that he will be retiring after 44 years.
Bob Bechtel, the Miami division’s vice president, will take over the vice president of customer experience role. He previously served as the company’s Lakeland division district manager and division regional director.
John Groff, the Miami division’s regional director, has been promoted to Miami division vice president.
Casey Suarez, the company’s vice president of distribution, announced that he will be retiring after 40 years.
Mike Lester, the director of warehousing, will be promoted to the vice president of distribution role.
