Publix named top March for Babies corporate partner

Publix has been named the number one March for Babies corporate partner for the third year in a row.

To achieve this status, the retailer raised more than $7.8 million to help fight for the health of all mothers and babies.

“Publix is one of our most valued partners in the fight to give every baby a healthy start,” Stacey D. Stewart, president of the March of Dimes, said. “We are grateful for the support of Publix associates and customers as they help us empower families with the knowledge and tools they need to have healthier pregnancies and healthy babies.”

The Lakeland, Fla.-based retailer has worked alongside the March of Dimes for more than two decades and during this year’s annual in-store and associate March for Babies campaign, associate and customers raised more than $7.8 million. This brings Publix’s 23-year total to more than $80.8 million, the organization said.

“We have the best customers in the industry, and together with our more than 190,000 associates, we are proud to work alongside of the March of Dimes to work together to improve the health of every mom and baby,” Maria Brous, director of media and community relations for Publix, said. “For more than two decades we have asked our customers and associates to give a donation at checkout to help support the tiniest babies who need our help, and time and time again, they do so, giving generously every time.”

The funds raised by Publix customers and associates are used to support such key activities as advocating for policies that prioritize the health of moms and babies, educating medical professionals to ensure mothers and their children receive the best care possible and supporting families through March of Dimes’ NICU Family Support.
