Walmart Open Call looks for new products

4/30/2018
Walmart is putting out the call to potential new suppliers for its fifth Open Call. The one-day event, set for June 13, offers entrepreneurs meetings with Walmart buyers to possibly get their products into the company’s retail offerings. The Open Call is part of the company’s Investing in American Jobs initiative.

“Walmart’s investment in U.S.-manufactured products goes beyond the shelf,” said Cindi Marsiglio, Walmart vice president of merchandise services and U.S. manufacturing. “The investment is also in the entrepreneurs’ dream, and that can be an emotional experience for everyone involved. By investing in products that support American jobs, we’re able to bring new products to our shelves and new jobs to our communities.”

Possible opportunities for attendees include deals that range from a handful of local stores to hundreds or thousands of stores — Walmart and Sam’s Club — or Walmart.com. The Walmart Open Call will include an update from Walmart leadership about its progress in its American jobs investment, product pitch meetings, customer insights from Walmart shoppers, a Supplier Academy learning session and a closing session and networking reception.

Registration is open until May 4. More information and the registration application can be found here.
