Walmart’s tech chief reportedly to depart

3/21/2019
Walmart’s chief technology officer is leaving the retailer, according to a report from Reuters. Jeremy King, who has been with the Bentonville, Ark.-based company since 2011, is departing effective March 29, according to a company memo sent to Walmart staff that was obtained by Reuters.

King leaves having overseen the integration of Walmart’s stores and online systems that fueled such services as buy online, pick up in store and grocery pickup. He also oversaw Walmart Labs and the technological overhaul of the company’s American stores.

Reuters noted that Walmart Labs’ senior vice president of customer technology, Fiona Tan, would be increasing her responsibilities as the company looks for a successor to King.
