Shoppers Drug Mart rolls out rapid COVID-19 screenings

Shoppers Drug Mart is making COVID-19 screenings available to those in the Alberta and Ontario regions of Canada.

The retailer announced that rapid antigen tests are now available at all Shoppers Drug Mart and Loblaw pharmacies in both provinces, with results available between 15 to 20 minutes.

“To get through this pandemic, we all need to follow public health guidelines, get vaccinated, and continue testing and screening to stop the spread of COVID-19,” Ashesh Desai, the executive vice president of pharmacy and healthcare at Shoppers Drug Mart said. “As Ontario and Alberta begin their recovery from this third wave of COVID-19, rapid screening options can provide customers with an extra level of confidence.”

Tests retail for $40 each and are to be processed with the pharmacy immediately. After the visit, the company said a record of the test and results will be given to the customer.

Customers are encouraged to call their local store and book an appointment directly with the pharmacy for screening.
