ShopRite is rolling out nutrition-focused offerings to mark National Nutrition Month in March. The Keasbey, N.J.-based retailer cooperative will be offering putting its dietitians front and center, offering a mix of in-store and online events focused on helping shoppers personalize their health-and-wellness goals, in line with the year’s theme “Personalize Your Plate.”
“Ever since we began offering dietitian services in our stores nearly 15 years ago, our goal has been to support our shoppers by offering personalized healthy eating advice,” said Natalie Menza-Crowe, director of health and wellness at ShopRite. “This year we’re expanding our reach by offering a combination of both in-store and online services that support a customer’s dietary health needs. We’re excited that our mission aligns perfectly with the theme of this year’s National Nutrition Month, ‘Personalize your Plate.’”
Among the programming ShopRite is offering will be customized food and nutrition advice via the registered dietitian chatbox on ShopRite’s dietitian website. Since the chat feature launched last year, the company said dietitians have conducted more than 16,000 one-on-one chats with customers. The company also will host events and classes both online and in stores, as well as offer personalized, appointment-based consultations with dietitians. ShopRite also will be celebrating Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day on March 10.
ShopRite said that the month’s programming is taking place alongside its ongoing offerings, including weekly better-for-you meal ideas provided by its dietitians and chefs and shared via Facebook and Instagram. The retailer also has a Recipe Shop feature online, which offers meal ideas and integration with its digital services, including virtual shopping list creation and online grocery ordering.
