MIAMI — Meeting for the ninth consecutive year, Anda held a two-day event leading into NACDS Annual Meeting that featured meet-and-greets with three retired Miami Dolphins stars — linebacker Jason Taylor, quarterback Bob Griese and tight end Joe Rose — and New York Yankees slugger Reggie Jackson.
Taylor, a six-time Pro Bowl selection, holds the sixth all-time career sacks record with 139.5 sacks. In addition to being the field general who led the Dolphins through its undefeated 1972 season, Griese helped Miami win two Super Bowl rings. And Joe Rose, who played six seasons for the Dolphins, is currently the color commentator on the Miami Dolphins radio broadcast.
Reggie “Mr. October” Jackson is a five-time Major League Baseball world champion. He slugged 563 home runs during a 21-year Hall of Fame career. Jackson won three of his World Series rings while on the Oakland A’s and two with the New York Yankees.
Anda hosted a record number of attendees, as more than 350 participated in Anda’s Annual Supply Chain Symposium, including almost 30 retailers. The meeting kicked off Thursday afternoon with a series of Business Exchange Meetings hosted by ECRM.
On Friday, Anda participants had an option to go deep-sea fishing or golf at the Turnberry Isle Resort and Golf Club.
The two-day annual Anda event has evolved into a unique opportunity for manufacturers and retailers to network around some memorable events. “Over the nine-year period of time, we have been able to build a business meeting that is both beneficial for our vendor partners and also our customers,” noted Anthony Mihelich, Anda VP purchasing. “With our record attendance this year, it shows we’re doing the right things to facilitate business relationships and personal relationships across the industry [between] the vendor and customer communities.”
The annual event brings everyone together in a casual format that spawns networking opportunities. Anda has built a brand awareness over more than 20-plus years by assisting customers on the retail side and helping the manufacturers solve problems and seize business opportunities.
