Southeastern Grocers celebrates nurses, everyday heroes

5/7/2020

Southeastern Grocers, alongside its healthcare facility partners, is celebrating everyday heroes on the frontlines of the COVID-19 battle.

From May 6 to 12, the Jacksonville, Fla.-based retailer’s banners will decorate their entrance paths with colorful chalk art that thanks nurses for their hard work during the pandemic.

“Southeastern Grocers is dedicated to being there for our communities when they need us the most, and we are proud to support the front-line heroes who are caring for our neighbors. Each and every day, nurses are on the front lines fighting to protect our loved ones, while being away from their own families,” Anthony Hucker, president and CEO of Southeastern Grocers, said. “In honor of National Nurses Week, we are showing our gratitude to nurses across our footprint for their sacrifice and bravery as they continue to work around-the-clock to keep us all healthy and safe.”

In addition, each of the company’s stores will partner with a local healthcare facility to show appreciation and gratitude by delivering cookie cakes, cupcakes and other sweets for the nurses to enjoy.
