Southeastern Grocers is looking to grow its employee workforce.

The company, which operates the Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie banners, announced that it is seeking to hire 40,000 associates across its five-state footprint.

Associates are provided with an assortment of benefits that include 401(k) matching, discounts, quarterly bonuses and health benefits, the company said.

“At Southeastern Grocers, we are committed to being and developing Reliable, Empathetic, Accountable Leaders — or R.E.A.L. — and as a result, we have cultivated a strong sense of trust and transparency between associates and leadership,” said Elizabeth Thompson, executive vice president and chief people officer at Southeastern Grocers. “Our dedication to belonging and fostering an inclusive environment, where we support our communities, celebrate our differences and empower everyone to be their true, authentic selves is what makes Southeastern Grocers a great place to work.”

Associates also are offered advancement opportunities that include training programs, scholarships and GED completion programs. Other benefits include a work-life balance with paid time off, paid holidays and paid parental leave, the company said.

To celebrate diversity, Southeastern Grocers said it launched seven diverse resource groups and implemented training sessions that provide education and encourage constructive conversations among associates on belonging, inclusion and diversity.

“What’s great about the grocery industry is the opportunity for growth. At SEG, our current leaders want to develop younger generations of leaders, so we encourage every level of the business to ask questions, be open to learning new things and keep a positive attitude,” said Eddie Garcia, Southeastern Grocers' executive vice president of store growth. “Positivity is contagious and, when combined with passion and diligence, associates truly stand out. My recommendation for those early in their grocery careers is to show up every day as someone your customers and co-workers can count on, and your potential will be recognized.”
