Strides Pharma gets FDA OK for generic Meticorten

Strides Pharma has received the Food and Drug Administration’s green light for prednisone tablets in a dosage strength of 1 mg.  The medication is used to treat allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, or breathing disorders.

The product is a generic of Schering’s Meticorten tablets, 1 mg.

Prednisone tablets have a market value of roughly $12 million, according to IQVIA July 2020 data.

The product will be manufactured at the company’s flagship facility at Bengaluru and will be marketed by Strides Pharma.
