Target’s Deal Days kick off it’s holiday shopping push

10/14/2020

Target’s answer to Amazon’s Prime Day is focusing on digital deals on more than double the items of the previous year across the electronics, home, essentials, toys and beauty spaces among others. Target’s Deal Days, Oct. 13 and 14 — and deals that started rolling out as early as Oct. 5 — marked the opening salvo of the retailer’s larger holiday shopping push as it looks to compete with Amazon for consumer dollars.

In the health and beauty space, Target promoted leading brands. On the beauty side, there were deals for Garnier’s Sleek & Shine line — including its leave-in conditioning cream and Anti-Frizz Serum — as well as Shea Moisture, Pantene and Suave in the hair care category.

For skin care, the retailer showcased Humphreys’ Certified Organic Witch Hazel Toners in various scents, Yes To’s wide selection, and Acure’s entire regimen — including SPF and brightening products. Personal care deals included  Fur’s Ingrown treatments and shave creams and Frank Body’s coffee scrubs. Makeup also saw some major discounts, with such brands as No7, L’Oréal Paris, Sonia Kashuk and CoverGirl seeing their hottest palettes featured.

The deals weren’t limited to products that give skin, hair and body some TLC. Target also featured health-and-wellness products, including nutrition supplements from such leading brands as Quest, Smarty Pants and Premier Protein; foot care from Dr. Scholl’s; and cough-cold and flu deals on Robitussin and Mucinex.

Beyond Deal Days, Target is bringing Black Friday pricing to stores throughout November and is extending its price-matching program.

“This year, in a holiday season unlike any other, we know it's more important than ever for our guests to get great deals in a convenient and safe shopping environment,” said Christina Hennington, Target's executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. “By kicking off our holiday deals earlier than ever, offering Black Friday pricing throughout the full month of November and extending our Price Match Guarantee, we're letting guests know they don't need to wait or face the crowds to get the best deals, all with no membership fees required.”

Black Friday pricing in November will cover the home, apparel, accessories and electronics categories. These will be advertised in stores and be available via Target.com.

The Price Match Guarantee will be extended beyond 14 days, and be available to shoppers from Nov. 1 to Dec. 24. Guests will be able to request a price adjustment for any item that is advertised as a Black Friday Deal if it is offered at a lower price at Target or Target.com, the company said
