Teva is offering liothyronine sodium tablets.

The product is the generic of Pfizer’s Cytomel (liothyronine sodium) tablets.

The medicine is used as a replacement therapy for certain cases of underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism); as an add-on therapy to surgery and radioiodine therapy in the management of thyroid cancer; and as a diagnostic therapy in suppression tests to differentiate suspected mild hyperthyroidism or thyroid gland autonomy.

Liothyronine sodium tablets is a hormone replacement therapy to be taken for life, according to Teva.
