Unichem gets FDA nod for generic Zonegran

Adult patients with epilepsy soon will have a new generic treatment.

The Food and Drug Administration has cleared Unichem’s Zonisamide capsules, in dosage strengths of 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg.

The product is the generic of Sunovion’s Zonegran.

Zonisamide capsules are indicated as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial seizures in adults with epilepsy. The product will be commercialized from Unichem’s Goa plant.
