Updox is introducing a COVID-19 vaccine communications package to facilitate safe, efficient delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine and effective patient engagement and communications surrounding distribution.

Updox's COVID-19 vaccine response package includes secure text, broadcast messaging and electronic forms to enable providers to quickly and easily communicate updates on vaccine availability and appointment details, answer patient questions and keep patients and staff safe through contactless check-ins and digital intake forms.

In addition, providers can proactively follow up post-appointment to reiterate possible reactions to the vaccine and confirm the patient’s second scheduled vaccination, a critical step in ensuring COVID-19 vaccination adherence. Given current patient concerns around vaccine side effects, proactive communication and comprehensive follow up by pharmacists or physicians are vital and could be what ultimately flattens the COVID-19 curve, the company said.

“At the beginning of the pandemic, many providers scrambled to onboard telehealth and safely and effectively serve patients. Now, with the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine, the industry must prepare so communications and distribution can happen efficiently. Ensuring providers can communicate with patient populations across multiple mediums, including text, email and phone, is important,” said Michael Morgan, Updox CEO. “The next couple of months are crucial in the battle against COVID-19. Even if providers aren’t delivering vaccines themselves, our Vaccine Communications Package helps with exchanging information with patients, answering relevant questions, documentation or collecting forms and encouraging adoption - all critical components to ensure success.”
