Upsher-Smith launches generic Accutane
Isotretinoin capsules are indicated for severe recalcitrant nodular acne.
Upsher-Smith is introducing Isotretinoin capsules in 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg and 40 mg strengths.
The medication is the generic of Retrobrands’ Accutane, which has been discontinued and is indicated for the treatment of severe recalcitrant nodular acne.

This product launch is part of a multi-year, multi-product collaboration between Upsher-Smith and New Zealand-based, Douglas Pharmaceuticals.
Isotretinoin capsules had a market value of approximately $299 million for the 12 months ending April 2023, according to IQVIA.
